The Marklew Family

Now living in Winchester, Hampshire, UK (since 1976)

We can trace the Marklew direct line of ascent back to Thomas Marklew (also spelt Marlow) who was born in Tamworth in 1597. We have over 230 names on the family tree which includes Margaret’s side of the family. Margaret has a lot of information on her family of Edmonds and Goodwin including interesting insight into early Methodist movement.Some of this research was carried out by my Grandfather in the 1950s and more recently by Peter Marklew.

Peter Marklew who lives in Sutton Coldfield UK has been working with Norga Richardson (nee Marklew) in South Africa to research the Marklews in South Africa. I have now compiled this family tree with over 60 descendants of Edward Marklew (born 27/7/1823) who emigrated to SA in about 1850. Marklews in South Africa
